Hunger Free Vermont

We are redesigning our website on Squarespace and working on a page outlining why hunger exists in Vermont. As part of this page, we're outlining the total income of a four person family with both parents making minimum wage full-time and the social safety net benefits they receive, compared to the cost of living/expenses.

I'm hoping to visualize this information and ideally make it interactive, so we'd love the help of a web designer or coder. If you're willing to help out or have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me!

Mission Statement

HFVT’s mission is to end the injustice of hunger and malnutrition for all Vermonters. We believe that everyone has the right to food to sustain an active and healthy life. Over the last 28 years our dedicated expertise has allowed us to fill a unique and vital role in ending hunger in the state by connecting Vermonters of all ages to the stable, dignified sources of nutritious food available to them through the federal meal programs.

Description

Hunger Free Vermont’s mission is to end the injustice of hunger and malnutrition for all Vermonters. Since 1993, their experienced staff have developed carefully integrated strategic initiatives designed to make sure that everyone in Vermont has consistent and readily available opportunities to eat the healthy food required to thrive every day. They help community organizations, schools, and childcare providers understand and make the most effective use of the federal nutrition programs that feed children through childcare, school, afterschool, and summer meal programs; and families and adults through 3SquaresVT (known nationally as SNAP) and WIC.
