We are seeking a dedicated Nutrition Department Assistant to assist with our cafe and meal services for summer youth participants. This role focuses on providing healthy meals in a welcoming environment and includes responsibilities such as meal preparation, distribution, cleanliness maintenance, food counting, and supporting program staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in meal preparation and ensure meals meet nutritional needs.
- Distribute meals to youth efficiently.
- Maintain cleanliness of the cafe space.
- Track meal counts and organize food supplies.
- Engage positively with youth participants.
- Assist with logistical aspects of meal service.
Qualifications:
- Passion for Nutrition and Healthy Eating: A genuine interest in food, nutrition, and combatting food insecurity, especially as it pertains to the well-being of youth in the community.
- Strong Communication Skills: A friendly, approachable demeanor with excellent communication skills, both with team members and youth participants.
- Team Player: Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment, collaborating with other staff members to ensure the success of the program.
- Reliability and Punctuality: Must be dependable and punctual, ensuring the smooth operation of meal service
Flexible Scheduling: Volunteers can select their preferred days and times, with a minimum commitment of two hours per shift. Volunteers can choose between the following hours of availability:
School Year: 2 PM - 8 PM
Summer: 8 AM - 8 PM
Choose from weekly,monthly or annual commitments based on your availability.
