ORGANIZATION: Tri-Counties Regional Center Foster Grandparent and Senior Companion Programs

Foster Grandparents assist special needs children in local schools in Santa Barbara, Ventura and San Luis Obispo County schools. Volunteers must qualify as low income, be 55 years of age or older and have a desire to make a difference in their community and be able to serve at least 15 hours a week. Foster Grandparents who qualify receive the following:

  • A tax exempt stipend
  • Daily Meal Allowance
  • Daily Travel Allowance
  • Annual recognition event
  • Ongoing training and much more

Description

The Foster Grandparent Program offers men and women an opportunity to share their love, wisdom and support with children and adolescents with developmental disabilities.

The Senior Companion Program offers men and women an opportunity to share their time and talents with adults with special needs.
