Girls Inc.is a national organization that utilizes interactive activities, mentoring relationships, intentional programming, and research-based curricula in a girls-only environment to inspire our girls to be Strong, Smart, and Bold. Girls Inc of Greater Madison is the local chapter of Girls Inc. and our programs primarily welcome BIPOC youth of Madison.
As a Girls Inc. Of Greater Madison volunteer, you will be making an active difference in the lives of so many students in Madison and beyond.
Volunteers are needed to:
Aid our Outreach Coordinator in their work with middle school students at O'Keeffe Middle School
Mondays 8:15 am - 10:00 am
Wednesdays: 9:00 am - 11:00 am
Fridays: 9:00 am - 11:00 am
Support our STEM Coordinator with elementary students at Goodman Center
Wednesday 2:15 pm - 5:30 pm
Our program strives to offer activities that support girls’ academic enrichment and leadership development as well as their right to career exploration and health and wellness. At Girls Inc., we believe that every student has the power within them to succeed and we want to do our part in helping them to recognize their own power and potential.
All volunteers will have the opportunity to create and maintain a positive mentor relationship with our students, helping them to realize their full potential to be Strong, Smart, and Bold. As the students who attend Girls Inc at O'Keeffe are primarily BIPOC youth we are seeking volunteers who mirror the identities of the students as much as possible.

Description
The Goodman Community Center is not your average community center. As I get to talking with people about Goodman, they inevitably end up surprised. They’re surprised by how many programs and resources we offer, how beautiful our facilities are, or how many people we serve. Every year more than 30,000 people use the Center - some who come to one event, others who are very familiar faces here.
Thanks to our generous community, we just built and moved into a second beautiful facility across the street, the Brassworks building. We’re now reconfiguring and refreshing the Center’s first home on Waubesa Street, the Ironworks building. During this past ten years, we’ve nearly doubled in size.
Our staff are committed to learning and continually improving, too. That’s why each program uses a variety of tools to measure impacts for both the program overall, and for each individual participant. We use that data to constantly fine-tune what we do - and how we do it.
We’re glad Goodman is one of many organizations in the Madison area who are pouring themselves into making our community great - for us all. We hope you’ll join us. Because we know that every good thing that happens here is made possible by people like you.
