Brighton Hospice is currently looking for volunteers in the Madison/Stoughton area to spend time with our patients and families. Some of the activities a volunteer may participate in include, but are not limited to: being a comforting and supportive presence, holding a hand, baking treats, listening to cherished memories, giving a hug, being a shoulder to lean on, touching a heart, reminiscing with patients, playing board or card games, running errands or light housekeeping, allowing time for caregivers to take care of themselves, playing music or singing, writing notes or memories for the patient, reading aloud, listening to patient's concerns, communicating needs of the patient/family to hospice staff and so much more!

Description

Brighton Hospice originated in 2012 in Utah and has spread to several other states including Minnesota, Oregon, Nevada and as of 2019 has come to Wisconsin. Brighton Hospice is designed to provide comfort and support to patients, so they may live out the last phase of their lives with dignity in a familiar setting. The goal of hospice care is to improve the quality of a patient’s last months by offering comfort, dignity and care in a familiar setting, whether that be in the patient’s own home, Assisted Living, or Skilled Nursing Facility. Brighton Hospice recognizes that the dying process is a part of the normal process of living and focuses on enhancing the quality of remaining life. Our team is made up of our Administrator, Director of Clinical Services, Medical Director, Nurse Case Managers, Hospice Aides, Social Worker, Chaplain and an excellent support team. Brighton Hospice will provide you and your family with the quality care you deserve.
