Keeping patients, their families and our teammates safe by preventing the spread of infection is a top priority for Hospice of Central Ohio. All staff--paid and volunteer--are trained in proper hand hygiene techniques and assessed annually while on the job.
Following all current COVID safety protocols (masking, distancing, demonstration of and compliance with proper hand hygiene techniques according to Hospice of Central Ohio infection control protocols), Infection Control Team (ICT) Hand Hygiene Observers will:
--Schedule and attend visits with direct patient support volunteer teammates to observe their hand hygiene practice during a patient visit or shift
--Complete and submit to Volunteer Services all required ICT Hand Hygiene forms
--Provide feedback to direct patient support volunteer teammates where needed to correct/re-educate regarding proper hand hygiene techniques according to Hospice of Central Ohio infection control protocols
