Join SOLVE near 87th and Marx Dr for a cleanup in an urgent-need area near the Columbia Slough. SOLVE defines an Urgent Need cleanup as an area with a high concentration of litter that poses a threat to public safety and environmental quality.
Urgent Need cleanups are not family friendly or suitable for anyone under the age of 18 due to an increased presence of hazardous materials. Safety guidelines will be put in place before the cleanup begins.
During this cleanup, you will work with SOLVE staff in a small group to clean up piles of trash along the road near the slough. We will be meeting at Ventura Foods LLC in their parking lot. This project has been funded in part by a grant from Travel Oregon.

At SOLVE our mission is simple: Bring Oregonians together to improve our environment and build a legacy of stewadship. We do that through facilitating hands-on volunteer opportunities across the state that help to remove litter and restore native habitat through out our natural areas and neighborhoods. The majority SOLVE events are created and led by local volunteer leaders with a stake in the health and strength of the local community. We also offer a wide range of volunteer opportunities from one time participation at a local event, to leadership roles on a local of regional level. We look forward to connecitng with you soon to help care for an outdoor area you love in Oregon!

- Come wearing sturdy work boots, if you bring personal belongings please bring a backpack so you can pick up trash hands-free. Dress for the weather, wear closed-toed shoes, and long pants. Wear a hat and put on sunscreen if it is a sunny day.
