Mission Statement

HeartBeat Performing Arts Charities was developed to provide opportunities for youth in Title-1 Schools and low-income communities in the North Houston area to grow, develop, and perform on community platforms and beyond in the areas of the performing and visual arts. Led by two African-American women, HeartBEAT has partnered with several school districts, pre-schools, parochial schools, churches, companies and organizations toward the advancement of our programs, and it is with great intent to continue our community work to further serve as the "heart" of our community.

Description

Opening in 2012, HeartBEAT has consistently been a leader within the FM 1960 and Veterans Memorial corridor in Northwest Houston. Over the years, we extended our dance programs into an After School Dance Academy as well as answered the call to worried parents in the midst of COVID-19 through our Virtual School Village. School districts and charter schools that we serve are; Klein ISD, Aldine ISD, Houston ISD, Cy-Fair ISD, Spring ISD, Tomball ISD, and Harmony Schools. We have always prided ourselves on our unique programming at minimal costs that will help propel our goals within our community. To date, HeartBEAT students have performed for several festivals and shows in Houston, for Disney, for the Houston Rockets, Houston Dynamo, performed in NYC earning a countless number of awards and scholarships among other appearances around Houston. It is within our due diligence to uphold the values, mission, and compassion that HeartBEAT Performing Arts Charities has built a firm foundation upon. We continue to serve our community in the HIGHEST capacity, and we are grateful for the recognition we have received over the years. It takes a village to raise a child, and that is what HeartBEAT Houston has always provided for nine years.
