HABITAT FOR HUMANITY OF NW METRO ATLANTA

Image_202108241355

Volunteers work alongside future homeowners partnered with Habitat for Humanity to build a place they can call home. With our help, Habitat homeowners achieve the strength, stability and independence they need to build a better life for themselves and their families.

Habitat volunteers build new homes from the ground up - framing and raising the exterior and interior walls, installing the insulation and siding, painting inside and out, laying sod, and planting shrubs. Habitat's skilled construction crew leaders guide volunteers through each project - no experience necessary!

Each home is completed in 9 weeks, with volunteers building every Saturday (rain or shine!), and you can join in at any point of the process. Come just once OR work the house from start to finish. We look forward to building with you!

Mission Statement

Seeking to put God’s love into action, Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities and hope.

Description

Driven by the vision that everyone needs a decent place to live, Habitat for Humanity began in 1976 as a grassroots effort on a community farm in southern Georgia. The Christian housing organization has since grown to become a leading global nonprofit working in nearly 1,400 communities throughout the U.S. and in nearly 70 countries. Families and individuals in need of a hand up partner with Habitat for Humanity to build or improve a place they can call home. Habitat homeowners help build their own homes alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage. Through financial support, volunteering or adding a voice to support affordable housing, everyone can help families achieve the strength, stability and self-reliance they need to build better lives for themselves. Through shelter, we empower.
