The First West Chester Fire Company is a 100% volunteer fire company located in the Borough of West Chester, PA. We are actively seeking volunteer firefighters to join our team. NO EXPERIENCE is necessary to volunteer, just a can-do attitude and a willingness to learn. We'll teach you the practical skills of being a firefighter while helping you to also build many transferrable skills, including:
- Teamwork
- Leadership
- Decision making
- Working under pressure
- Community events
- Public relations
- Marketing and recruitment
- Building construction and pre-planning
- Government relations

- Applicant should be geographically located in the vicinity of West Chester, PA at least part-time.
- Applicant should be able to attend training on Wednesday evening (does not need to attend every week but should attend regularly)
- Applicant will need to provide a PA State Background Check & PA State Child Abuse Clearance (the department will help the applicant acquire these at no cost).

Description
As the oldest company in the West Chester Fire Department, our volunteer organization has been proudly serving our communities since 1799. The First West Chester Fire Company is one of three 100% volunteer fire companies that make the West Chester Fire Department. The Station is located at South Bradford Avenue and West Miner Street in East Bradford Township. The First West Chester Fire Company provides fire/rescue coverage to West Chester Borough, as well as West Goshen, East Bradford, Westtown, Birmingham, and Thornbury Townships.
