Come help out with Fuerza Unida's monthly food pantry program!
Volunteers will be packing boxes of food and getting them prepared to be picked up by Fuerza Unida's members. A great opportunity for someone who can lift ~20 pounds and likes to move at a fast pace. Tasks include
-Unloading trucks with products (produce, pantry staples, canned goods. ) -packing boxes with produce, pantry staples, canned goods, etc. -lifting bags of produce (sacks of potatoes, onions, etc... -ensuring all boxes are receiving equal amounts of items -breaking down cardboard boxes

Mission Statement
Fuerza Unida’s mission is to empower women workers, particularly women workers of color, and their families to achieve social, economic and environmental justice through education, organizing and advocacy. A special part of Fuerza Unida’s mission is to address issues confronting garment workers in economic crisis because of plant closings and lay-offs. Fuerza Unida words to advance the rights of women, immigrants, low-income workers, and communities of color by providing education, training, guidance, and accessible information so that they may protect their rights and those of their families and communities.
Description
Today the women of Fuerza Unida continue working towards providing support to the groups that still struggle through oppression here in San Antonio. They provide a variety of services for their members, and work together to inform the community about everyday struggles minorities face. They currently have four active programs established to support the community.
We have a monthly food pantry; Thread of Justice; Youth of Fuerza; and School of Justice.
