Hunger Intervention Program provides weekend food bags to local elementary and middle school students who need them. These food bags, which we call Healthy HIP Packs, are filled with shelf-stable, nutritious food to ensure that kids don’t go hungry over the weekend. Come out and join us at our packing parties to help assemble these HIP Packs! This is a great opportunity for folks of all ages, and no training is needed beforehand.
Packing parties are held every 2nd Thursday of the month from 3:00-4:30pm, and every 4th Wednesday of the month from 5:00-6:30pm. Contact our volunteer coordinator at vista@hungerintervention.org or visit www.hungerintervention.org/volunteer to sign up. Currently, we are only accepting volunteers who have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

Mission Statement
The mission of Hunger Intervention Program (HIP) is to increase food security for underserved populations in north King County through nutritious meals, educational programs, and advocacy.
Description
HIP’s programs bring nutrition education to local families and vital meals to neighbors in need through our Summer Meals for Kids, Afterschool Snack, Shelter Meals, and Senior Meals programs. Our Healthy HIP Packs program also provides vital weekend food support to children at risk of hunger when they are out of school. HIP is actively engaged with many local, statewide, and national coalitions of food justice organizations to advocate for policy level changes to address hunger.
