Seeking individuals who can spear head the organization's food pantry located at 629 Albany Avenue, Hartford, CT 06112. Food pantry is open to the community twice monthly (every other Thursday) from 9 AM - 12 PM. Food is typically distributed at 12 PM until supplies last.
The tasks consists of picking up food donations from partner grocery stores as well as food purchased from Food Share one day before food distribution (Wednesday), transporting food to the office, setting up and preparing for food distribution day. Additionally, distributing food to community residents who have signed up to receive good items.
Must be able to lift 5-10 lbs, load and unload food items from vehicle.
Company vehicle will be provided. Drivers' License and clean driving record required. Drivers history screening will be done.

Description
In 1986, Hartford-area Latinos with HIV/AIDS, social workers and community members began organizing support groups for individuals recently diagnosed with HIV. As the epidemic spread and more Latinos became infected, these organizers started advocating for culturally-appropriate HIV/AIDS programs and services. Out of these initiatives and leadership, Latino Community Services (originally known as "Latinos Contra SIDA") was born.
