Homoglobin is a nonprofit social welfare organization aiming to achieve equality for the LGBTQ+ community in education and healthcare. Currently, many gay and bisexual people aren’t allowed to donate blood, and our nation’s public-school system still routinely undervalues or even ignores issues regarding the community, whether it’s history or family life education.

Position Brief

The Treasurer/Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is charged with managing and improving upon Homoglobin’s financial status, drafting budgets and expenditure reports, and ensuring the organization has the funds it needs to carry out its objectives.

• Developing both short and long-term operational goals to drive Homoglobin’s financial growth and well-being.
• Working with all departments to devise fundraising strategies and minimize costs.
• Drafting the budget and filing proper financial documents alongside the President/CEO.
• Ensuring compliance with the law, company policies, and other financial regulations.
• Overseeing the solicitation of major donors and foundations, and helping to create the conditions for fundraising success.
• Building and maintaining Homoglobin’s donor list (i.e. new donor recruitment & current donor appreciation efforts).
• Implement fundraising strategies such as merchandising, events, special efforts, etc.
• Exploring new potential revenue streams, including (but not limited to) merchandising, content creation, emails, etc.

• Educational/professional background in finance
• Ability to manage a small team and provide guidance and advice where needed
