The Active Aging Program of Salt Lake County is recruiting bilingual peer-leaders who are interested in helping facilitate our Spanish Speaking program Tomando Control de su Salud at the Salt Lake County Senior Centers.
Tomando Control de su Salud is a 6-session evidence-based workshop designed for
people living with an ongoing or limiting health condition or people who care for them. Participants learn self-management techniques and skills needed in the day-to-day management of any type of ongoing health condition.
Volunteers will need to be available during the morning hours, attend a 4-day training to be able to facilitate the program and complete all Salt Lake County requirements.

Description
As the largest Area Agency on Aging (AAA) in Utah, Salt Lake County Aging Services is the community focal-point for older adults, their families and caregivers; providing a comprehensive system of services that promote the health and wellbeing of older adults while supporting and assisting seniors who need help to remain independent.
There is no such thing as a 'typical’ older person. Their situations and their lives are very diverse. While many seniors are healthy and active, remaining in the workforce, volunteering in their communities or enjoying their friends and families, others are frail and struggle to remain independent. Aging Services is the recognized community leader for aging needs, options and opportunities. WE CAN HELP!
