This is an open opportunity to become a Villager in our brand new Caregiver Community Center!! This center will be home to Milton Adult Day Services (a daytime center for adults living with dementia) and also a resource center for the caregivers of those living with dementia.
Our center is a self contained town, complete with a theatre, cafe, pub, library, gym, art studio, chapel, woodshop and expansive outdoor area including gardens.
This opportunity is open for any length of shift during our open hours of 7:30am - 5pm Monday through Friday.
Whatever your interests or talents may be, we can find an opportunity for you.
Examples of opportunities are: leading a fitness class, staffing the library, teaching an arts and craft class, serving in the cafe, being an usher during a theatre production, calling bingo, leading a bible study, conducting the choir, planting the gardens, joining the decorating/event committee, helping behind the scenes with the newsletter, assisting with support groups, acting as the bartender in the pub, the list is endless!! We craft our programming to the talents of our volunteers. Do you have something you are passionate about and want to share it? Let us know.

Description

Care Connections Center at Milton Village is a socially inclusive Caregiver Community Center based on the structure and philosophy of the Dementia Village in the Netherlands. Volunteer opportunities include a vast assortment of activities and socialization. This center is created in the model of a town, with a theatre, art studio, woodshop, chapel, pub, hair salon, library, fitness room, cafe, etc. You can teach a class, assist with projects, plant the gardens, plan a book club, run the concession stand, be the librarian, be the "bartender", serve in the cafe, help with newsletters, the options are endless! Give us a call!

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be at least 18
  • Orientation or Training
  • This center will be opening near the end of the fall. We offer all sorts of shifts during the hours of 7:30am - 5pm Monday through Friday. Shifts of 5 hours or more in a day will be provided with a meal from our cafe.
  • Background check and criminal history will be required. If you are under 18, you can still volunteer! There are some additional steps, so give us a call. 574-232-4121 ask for Angel.
