JFS is in need of volunteers to make in-home visits to seniors with Alzheimer's/Dementia, enabling the family caregiver to enjoy some much needed respite or free time.
The volunteer would attend a one-time zoom training by the Director of our Caregiver Respite Program, in preparation for this assignment. The role of the volunteer is to offer basic companionship and friendly support to the senior, committing to one visit per week, two hours long. The volunteer and the client's caregiver will together determine the days/times of these visits. Our clients reside in the Boca Raton/Highland Beach/Delray Beach area.
All volunteers are required to attend a zoom training and complete a background check to participate in this opportunity. Proof of COVID vaccination is also required.
