Elara Caring, one of the nation's largest providers of home-based and hospice care, is looking for compassionate volunteers willing to donate their time to provide exceptional end-of-life comfort to local hospice patients and their families.
We are looking to create memory quilts and keepsakes for bereaved families. While having a loved-one is hospice care is always stressful, we aim to support every family though this process by creating projects that celebrate the life and memory of the patient.
This is a remote volunteer opportunity, but finished projects can be dropped off at the Elara Caring office building in Des Plaines, IL. Office hours are Monday-Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM.
***All volunteers are asked to wear masks in the office building. Once in the office, volunteers will be spaced out at least 6 feet apart to adhere to social distancing guidelines***
The onboarding process includes a background check and fingerprinting to maintain compliance with the Illinois Department of Public Health. A hospice volunteer must be 14 years old to participate according to Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services guidelines.
For any questions and to schedule an information session via zoom, please contact the Volunteer Coordinator at crundblad@elara.com
