About STITCHES INFLUENCING PURPOSE INITIATIVE

Location:

11616 Southfork Avenue, Suite 400, BATON ROUGE, LA 70816, US

Mission Statement

Our mission is to engage, influence and connect individuals and families with resources, education, and training through a variety of collaborative efforts and partnerships resulting in exposure to opportunities that will transition them into a condition of empowerment and self-determination. Ultimately to empower people while impacting the world. Since its inception, SIP has been on the move assisting individuals and families providing free individualized services, information, resources, and emotional support needed to positively enhance the independence and productivity in our community. SIP supports all ages and backgrounds throughout the Greater Baton Rouge area extending throughout the southeast region of the United States.

Description

The inception of The SIP Initiative comes into fruition through the collaborative efforts and by way of being the brainchild of Dr. Jeremy L. Blunt and Ms. Deatra Peoples Blunt. Dr. Blunt is a US Army Veteran with over twenty-five years of experience working with "at-risk" youth. He also has over twenty years experience teaching personal and professional development. With almost two decades of being on the frontline of the battle to save our youth and empower people, Dr. Blunt has a passion to see a more effective and lasting change in the lives of the people being served. Deatra has spent over twenty years working in the medical and social services field to provide children, youth, and families throughout the state with resources, training, and education. She is also a leader with the Outstanding Mature Girlz Organization where she teaches and mentors young girls. Dr. Blunt and Ms. Peoples’ work and dedication to the community has helped to equip, encourage, and empower everyone they meet. Collectively they agree on limited results due to outside factors not being able to be addressed.

Through a series of collaborations with community leaders, faith-based and nonprofit organizations, SIP has been able to provide training and education to the community by way of virtual training, podcast talks and mask giveaways during the global pandemic. Through the proven success of "The STEALTH Santa Project" and "Feeding the Deserving" community projects, Dr. Blunt presents the SIP Initiative.
