The 2013 floods caused severe damage to Button Rock preserve, including scouring out the banks of the North Saint Vrain leaving behind nothing but sediment and cobble. Restoration work included fencing in revegetated areas along the creek banks to reduce disturbance during recovery. Now that plantings are well-established, it is time to remove the fencing! We’ll be pulling out t-posts, removing clips, and rolling up welded wire fencing near Button Rock Trailhead on either side of the creek. This is a full day event, designated as EASY -- no experience required!
