The #1ThingAgainstRacism team is looking for software engineers to help build and maintain several charitable websites, such as:
- https://hatecrimetracker.1thing.org:
- A website that collect anti-asian hate incidents, aggregate and visualize the data in order to raise awareness of the issue;
- We just launched the first version of this site. There are still a lot to be done;
- https://www.1thing.org:
- The main website of #1ThingAgainstRacism, where we are building our first set of features that will help participants of the #1Thing movement.
We now need immediate help from front-end engineers who are familiar with **ReactJS** to work on some urgent feature and bug fixes in https://hatecrimetracker.1thing.org.

Mission Statement
#1ThingAgainstRacism is a grassroot movement that encourages the Asian community and allies to stand up, take small actions to fight against racism, share what we did and inspire more people to join the force. The main idea of the movement is that with chain of action -> share -> inspire to create a positive feedback loop that can aggregate small efforts to large social movement that eventually make real differences in our society.
Description
Even though the anti-Asian hate is not under the spotlight in today’s news, the issue still exists. The AAPI community and our allies could sit still doing nothing today, waiting until another horrible incident will inevitably happen again. Or we could continue the momentum that we all built together in the past few months. We shall continue contributing to the cause, one small thing at a time. Together, we can eventually gain the racial equality we deserve.
