Move, groove and feel rejuvenated dancing with children with differing abilities.

At MAGIC Dance Arts Inc. we believe children of ANY and ALL abilities should have a safe space to dance. We also believe that our dance classes have the ability to help children work on skills and behaviors that need improvement!

Our student's journey with MAGIC starts with an initial assessment with a MAGIC Behavioral Consultant. There, we find out what behaviors the child is aiming to learn and/or master. We then incorporate those skills in a customized curriculum to be implemented in dance class.

We are in need of dance volunteers to work side by side with our teachers! The reality is, the more adults in our classes, the better we can impact the children we serve. We need your help modeling dance moves, playing with instruments, and all the other things that are expected in a dance environment.

You do not have to be a professional dancer to volunteer in our dance classes! Our only ask is that you have the ability to move around the room as quickly as the kids do!

If you are interested, please email us using the form below!

Mission Statement

MAGIC Dance Arts, Inc. provides an inclusive community for individuals of any and all abilities to creatively express themselves through recreational classes and social events.

MAGIC Dance Arts Inc. is a non profit organization founded by Executive Director, Chelsea Laxa, in an attempt to provide creative outlets for young children in the South San Francisco Bay Area.

Our classes are far from your typical dance class. We promote an inclusive environment where the classes will always cater to the individual needs of the students. Not only do we promote inclusivity, we also strive to improve overall child development through the use of a variety of lessons learned through movement and dance. To promote social engagement, we encourage turn taking and the use of varying forms of communication to greet peers. We work to enhance fine motor and gross motor skills through a variety of dance moves and the use of our sensory-friendly items. In order to accommodate a sensory-friendly environment, lights may be dimmed, music may be lowered, and a variety of visuals and props will be used. It is a dance class like no other.
