About Us: Redwood Hospice is looking for volunteers to join the Redwood Team as we provide excellent care and support to our hospice patients and their families in their homes! We serve families in Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties.
The philosophy of hospice care is to provide comfort and the highest quality of life that one can achieve at end of life. Through an interdisciplinary team: nurse, nurse assistant, social worker, chaplain, and volunteers, we help the patient and family walk through their journey.
As a volunteer, you can choose between many opportunities: the gift of companionship, emotional support to the patient and the family, listening to music, running errands, birthday celebrations, clerical support in the office, or community outreach and events.
Volunteers are trained in their role with patients, we are required to conduct background checks and TB testing, at no charge to all volunteers.

Ways you can volunteer for Redwood Hospice!
- Provide relief for caregivers and supportive social interaction for patients
- Assist in light chores such as laundry, cleaning windows, ect.
- Deliver flowers
- Provide the patient with pet or music therapy
- Assist in bereavement support
- Clerical work, filing, answering phones, typing, ect.
- Prepare and mail newsletters, thank you notes, sympathy cards, and other literature
- Create blankets, scarves, mittens, pictures, cards, music CD's, ect.
*Our main office is in San Jose, CA. However, we provide services in Santa Clara & San Mateo County.
Description: Redwood Hospice is looking for compassionate individuals who can provide comfort and support to patients with a life-limiting illness. This position is perfect for those who have a passion for serving their community, need volunteer hours, and have a background in clerical work.
*Redwood Hospice will provide any Personal Protective Equipment needed. Vaccinated applicants only.
