Homework Center Are you enthusiastic about empowering young people through learning? Then you should volunteer in Homework Center to support youth who are looking to further succeed in their school work! This is a drop-in program, so volunteers get the chance to meet and help a variety of students each time they join.

What do Homework Center Tutors do?
* Work 1:1 or with small groups of students each week during the academic year (committing to at least 1 semester)
* Strengthen students’ academic skills by supporting them in working on homework and by helping them to build literacy and math skills
* Build positive relationships with students to support their social and emotional development
* Work as a team with staff to help create and maintain a safe and supportive environment

What are we looking for in a Homework Center Tutor?
* Enthusiasm for helping youth learn and a commitment to empower others
* Ability to work with youth from diverse cultural, socioeconomic, and academic backgrounds in a housing-based setting

  • Homework Center takes place Mondays and Wednesdays 3:30-5:30. A commitment of one day a week for a semester is required.
  • This is an in-person volunteer opportunity. Masks are required of all volunteers, staff, and youth in CommonBond buildings regardless of vaccination status.
