Families and Friends of the Wrongfully Convicted, is a local, small and grassroots organization that helps victims and their families overcome with wrongful convictions. We provide diverse services including legal support, reentry programs, educational workshops and socio-emotional counseling to the community.

We currently have a staff under 5, and we need to increase our capacity to be more impactful towards our fight for criminal justice.

FFWC is in need of a volunteer to help support our communications. This individual would help put together flyers, update our brochures, send out monthly newsletter, and post on our social media pages. The volunteer's schedule is not rigid and can be flexible as needed. We operate a brick and mortar location in Brooklyn, NY, but volunteers can work remotely. Please contact us if you have additional questions, your support is greatly needed and appreciated.

Mission Statement

Families of the Wrongfully Convicted (FFWC) is a grassroots advocacy effort to raise public awareness about incidences of wrongful convictions, the plight of families of those who are currently incarcerated, and to provide support to men and women who have been paroled and those exonerated.

Description

Families and Friends of the Wrongfully Convicted works primarily with individuals who assert that they were convicted by some failure of the criminal justice system for offenses they did not commit. The families and friends of those individuals also receive both financial and emotional support from FFWC.
