ORGANIZATION: It's a Sensory World!

Join us for a weekly Girls & Boys Night at It's a Sensory World! for girls and boys ages 6-14.

Each Friday from September 24th , 2021 - November 5th , 2021 ( excluding October 29th) from 6:00pm-9:00pm will be a fun new theme including a glow party, movie night, video games, crafting, dance parties, game nights, and more! The purpose of this group is to have fun, make new friends, and connect with old friends.

We are looking for volunteers who are flexible, engaging, willing to learn and have fun!

At ISW, we are following COVID-19 guidelines. We check temperatures at the door and all staff and volunteers are required to wear a mask ( regardless of vaccination status). We also encourage frequent hand washing/sanitizing and social distancing to the best of our abilities.

Mission: To serve children with special needs and their families with customized, sensory-based programs to maximize developmental potential leading to independence and inclusion. Vision: Children with special needs are purposefully included in the community.

Description

Who Are We?

It’s a Sensory World! is a center that offers a variety of multi-sensory educational, recreational, and therapeutic services for children with special needs and their families. Our unique programs bridge the gap between therapy and mainstream education and recreation.

Why Are We Different?

  • When we first opened in October 2007, we were the only center offering services supplemental to therapy in North Texas and one of only two in the country. We are the only center where parent empowerment is a central part of our mission.

  • We are the only center in North Texas that offers these unique bridge programs all in one center.

  • We have a large therapeutic gym which is typically only found in a therapy setting. Our gym is unique because it is open to the public, and we use it to provide the students enrolled in our many programs with the intense sensory input they need.

  • We have a unique, child-centered approach which blends multiple disciplines, including speech and language, sensory integration, behavior modification and special education.
