Do you want to be a part of the largest Latinx festival in Oakland? We are looking for volunteers to help with a variety of tasks, outreach, event preparation, and much more. The 26th annual Dia de los Muertos Festival is right around the corner, and we are looking for 300 volunteers to help us bring back the largest Latino festival in Oakland.

What: Dia de Los Muertos Festival

When: Sunday, October 31st from 10am - 5pm.

Where: International Blvd. in Oakland between Fruitvale Ave and 42nd Avenue

It's such an important year for us to celebrate life and mourn our loved ones. Our focus is health and wellness, and this year's theme is "Curando Corazones", or "Healing Hearts." For this reason, the 2021 Dia de los Muertos Festival will resume in-person activities at a smaller scale, offering Covid-19 vaccinations and testing on site, and highlighting the fundamental and authentic elements of the annual celebration - ofrendas, Danza Azteca, and low-riders.

Can we count on you to volunteer this year? All volunteers receive a Día de los Muertos Festival T-Shirt, lunch provided, healthy snacks & water throughout the day.

We are in need of hundreds of volunteers to help for 3-4 hour shifts from 6am - 6pm. We have exciting opportunities that can work with your availability!

Volunteer Roles:

  • Vendor set-up team
  • Altar Volunteers
  • Festival Greeters
  • Festival Monitor
  • Green team
  • Parking Lot Attendees
  • Donation/Outreach Team
  • Volunteer Headquarters
