Our goal at the Museum of Craft and Design is to make creativity more accessible. As part of our pandemic response, we created MakeArt Kits to distribute for free in the community. These self-contained craft kits are designed to relate back to our exhibitions.

Join us as we celebrate the opening of our fashion-based Mode Brut exhibition featuring the unique works of more than 50 Creativity Explored artists. Mode Brut's Felt Floral MakeArt Kits, as inspired by Katherine Finn-Gamino, include a embroidery materials, design pens, and fabric.

Pick up materials at the museum and assemble from home! Contact us to schedule a material pick-up time and be amongst the first to see Mode Brut for free!

About Museum of Craft and Design

2569 Third Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, US

Mission Statement

Through inspired exhibitions and experiential programs, MCD explores the creative process and current perspectives in craft and design.

The Museum of Craft and Design (MCD) makes creativity accessible to everyone.

MCD’s exhibitions and programs:

- Illuminate the creative process
- Question the conventional notion of art
- Inspire awe and spark curiosity
- Invite participation and collaboration
- Champion designers, makers, artists and risk-takers

MCD is the only San Francisco museum devoted exclusively to craft and design. Exhibitions present innovative craft and design in varied media, with interpretation and programs focusing on process and hands-on experiences. Since the museum's founding in 2004, MCD has dynamically brought arts programming outside of the museum walls and into community settings, engaging public events and spaces with a range of ideas, materials and processes.
