Homeward Bound Cat Adoptions

Volunteer1

One of the most important things animal rescue does is assist with the rehoming of animals. This is the first step in every Homeward Bound cat’s journey to find their new home! During this time, we monitor feline health and temperament while deciding the best option for their future. The Intake and Foster Assistant is a key position in that decision making! Responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing foster applications and home visits (if needed)
  • Orienting new fosters, maintaining email/phone communications, gathering supplies
  • Assisting with the intake process: review forms, aid with initial exam and vaccinations
  • Scanning paperwork into database, set reminders for vaccine due dates, rabies tags, etc...

This position’s schedule would be from Sunday to Thursday, 12pm - 6pm and does provide training. Other requirement volunteers may need to be able to do are:

  • Stand, squat, bend, twist, and lift
  • Comfortable handling cats, particularly when they are nervous or scared, and may need special handling
  • Able to use chemical cleaning solutions (to clean and disinfect the facility)
  • Experienced in cat handling and behaviors, or open to learning more!
  • Familiar with basic technology (i.e. phones, computers, printers)

If you’ve always wanted to lend a hand to a paw in need, but cleaning isn’t for you, we have plenty of opportunities available! Please check out our Volunteer page on our website or click on our VolunteerMatch profile to see what else you could do for cats in need!
