Momentum Collective Inc. is partnering with the Alexandria Redevelopment and Housing Authority to provide an after-school arts program to elementary age youth who live in subsidized housing in Alexandria, VA. The dance instructor will teach beginner level youth the fundamentals of dance, with a heavy emphasis on urban-contemporary movements. Instructors will also teach several choreographed routines in preparation for performing arts showcases, twice during the school year. Volunteers will receive support on how to incorporate academic elements into the dance classes. This opportunity is on Tuesdays from 5:30pm to 7:00pm and will require direct and in-person interaction with youth. As a result, we require that all volunteers be fully vaccinated, and be able to provide proof of vaccination, or submit weekly COVID-19 test results. The program year concludes on June 17.

There may be alternate days and times available for volunteers to teach dance to additional groups of youth in the city. If this is of interest, we would love to share more about that as well.

Group size will not exceed 10 participants. Volunteers must be comfortable working with youth from various socio-economic backgrounds.
