Santa Barbara School of Squash (SBSOS) is looking for volunteer drivers to collect one or more students from various schools in Santa Barbara and drop them off at SBSOS programming at one of three downtown SB locations.

SBSOS is year-round sports, education, and mentoring nonprofit program serving committed Santa Barbara youth (5th-12th grade) who qualify for the National School Lunch program. SBSOS pillars include squash, academic tutoring, community service, enrichment opportunities, and mentoring. We operate after school, on weekends, and during holidays. By using the sport of squash as a motivator, we guide students to realize their academic, athletic and personal potential. Our goal is for each student to graduate from high school prepared for their next step: college or to launch a career. We stay in contact with graduates as they work toward their post-high school goals and offer guidance and support through age 25. We are closely involved with each student on many levels and describe the program as "an inch wide but a mile deep".

SBSOS Mission Statement - To help students succeed in life through squash, education, and mentoring.

A critical element of our programming is collecting all our students (30 in total) from their various schools in Santa Barbara, Montecito, and Goleta (pickup times vary from 2:50pm to 3:35pm) and bringing them to our programming that runs from 3:30-5:30pm Monday through Friday. We currently have students at 9 different schools and the logistics of this transportation issue is always very challenging. We need to add to our current group of drivers that are staff members, parents, and volunteers.

Whether you can do one day a week or all five days your help will make a difference!

Volunteer drivers will be using their own vehicle, must pass a background check, show proof of a valid CA drivers license and insurance, and provide references.
