Every October, Reiman Gardens plants thousands of spring-blooming bulbs throughout the gardens. Tulips and daffodils and hyacinths, oh my! These bulbs must be planted in the fall before the ground freezes because they require a long period of cool temperatures for them to flower in the spring.

Volunteers are needed to plant bulbs this October! This is a great individual, family, and group volunteer activity. Weekday mornings and afternoon times available. A gardening/horticulture background or prior experience is not required to participate.

Volunteers are encouraged to visit the Gardens in the springtime to see their beautiful results!

Good Things To Know
  • This volunteer activity takes place outdoors and may be cancelled in case of severe weather (all volunteers will be notified via email of any schedule changes)
  • Volunteers should wear close-toe/heel shoes (sneakers, hiking or steel-toe boots are a good choice)
  • Volunteers should also bring along a full water bottle
  • Reiman Gardens will provide gloves, tools, and bulbs
  • Volunteers should be prepared to get dirty!
