Volunteers Needed to Prep the Gardens!

In addition to getting the pumpkins ready for display for Spirits in the Gardens, our horticulture team needs help from volunteers to prepare the grounds and gardens for the colder months ahead. Thousands of tulips, daffodils, and hyacinth bulbs must be planted before the ground freezes. There are additional fall garden and grounds projects to be completed before our Spirits in the Gardens event on October 21-23. Gardening/horticulture experience is not required to participate! Volunteers are encouraged to visit the Gardens in the springtime to see their beautiful results!

Event Dates

Shifts are 3 hours long with a break midway through. If you are interested in volunteering but need a time accommodation, let's talk! Email rgvolunteers@iastate.edu.

Good Things To Know

• This volunteer activity takes place outdoors and may be cancelled in case of severe weather (all volunteers will be notified via email of any schedule changes)
• Volunteers should wear close-toe/heel shoes (sneakers, hiking or steel-toe boots are a good choice)
• Volunteers should also bring along a full water bottle
• Reiman Gardens will provide gloves, tools, and bulbs
• Volunteers should be prepared to get dirty!
