MRC is looking for New Leaf Market Volunteers! If you enjoy connecting with customers about organic produce and want to support our refugee community, this is the opportunity for you. You will work alongside our refugee staff at Mueller Farmers Market to help process purchases and share the mission of MRC. As a thank you, we will offer veggies for you to take home!

You must have volunteered at least once at the farm or have attended the farm tour. Shifts are from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm on Sundays. Orientation is 30 minutes prior to your first shift.

Description

MRC blends skills-based education with social entrepreneurship to connect refugees to dignified, fair-wage work in Austin. We operate a commercial farm and sewing studio.

Open Arms Studio is a textile manufacturer employing refugees at a fair wage in Austin, Texas, through advanced sewing training and fair-wage employment. New Leaf Agriculture connects refugee families to the land, both by matching them to community garden plots and employing skilled farmers at our local commercial farm.
