Kindred Hospice is looking for a few volunteers in the south suburbs of Chicago. Kindred Hospice has patients in Romeoville, Orland Park, Crestwood, Plainfield, Hazel Crest and Aurora. We are looking for a few dedicated and compassionate individuals who are willing to visit with those patients once a week for 30-60 mins.
What might your visits look like?
You might talk with your patient, play games together, look at photos, play music for him/her, sit in silence, watch a movie, hold a hand (just be present), and/or read to your patient. Because our patients are on hospice care they are at different places in their disease progression which may limit what you can do together.
For patients in facilities you can go whenever you want to. For patients who are at home you will need to schedule your visit. We ask that you make three visits per month.
