HIRING: Instagram Graphic Designer Intern (unpaid volunteer position)

The Global Diplomat is a diverse and completely student-run organization platform built with the purpose of educating youth on global issues, public affairs, and foreign policy. We provide a strong and safe platform where students can explore and publicly express their diverse points of view on topics they care about. We continue to grow steadily, with volunteers from over 5 continents, and reach a very diverse audience worldwide.

We are currently expanding our divisions and looking for a passionate, dedicated Instagram Graphic Designer Intern interested in creating posts for The Global Diplomat Instagram account and promoting our content to increase the audience’s engagement. The internship period starts on September 15th and ends on December 15th, 2021.

Job description

The ideal candidate can:

• Create aesthetically pleasing, eye-catching, and artistic posts for the Global Diplomat Instagram account every week. (Our Instagram account: @global.diplomat)

• Curate an engaging Instagram feed
• Communicate closely with the Social Media Writer and Instagram Manager to effectively develop Instagram content
• Participate in 1. Social Media Management Meeting every other week (scheduled in advance) and 2. General Group Meeting once a month on the second Sunday @ 10 am EST .

Requirements:

• Currently in either high school or university.
• 24/7 access to the Internet and will be able to promptly communicate with team members through various platforms, including Slack and Instagram.
• Ability to commit to our organization for the full internship period.
• Ability to meet a weekly deadline.
• Ideally possess the following skills/qualities: extensive artistic abilities, Photoshop, Canva, InDesign, Procreate, ability to work in teams, proficient verbal communication, responsibility, dedication, and basic knowledge of remote work tools (i.e. Zoom, Google Drive, etc)

• We are not currently giving out official volunteer hours to our members; however, we are more than happy to write a reference letter for your future endeavors.
• While this is an internship opportunity, you may be promoted to the full-time IG Graphic Designer position.
