Bereavement support:
Hospice volunteers can work closely with our bereavement staff. We are seeking individuals who would like to learn more about bereavement services and how they can support those who are dealing with loss. Bereavement volunteers can (after completion of training) offer phone call support and/or direct visit support.
Duties may include calling to check in on the recently bereaved which requires good listening skills and compassion, assisting a support group or helping with mailings to families.
If you are interested in learning more about this opportunity, please email me at ccarroll@brookdale.com. We look forward to hearing from you.
This can be a remote position.

Mission Statement
Enriching the lives of those we serve with compassion, respect, excellence and integrity.
Description
The philosophy at Brookdale Hospice is that life is much more than physical health; it also includes the health of the human spirit. When physical health begins to fail, the nurturing of the spirit becomes critical for maintaining the dignity of the individual.
Volunteers are an important part of our hospice team, filling roles that include direct contact with patients and clerical support. Medicare requires the utilization of volunteers alongside paid clinical and administrative staff. Hospice volunteers describe their work as gratifying, intellectually stimulating, and emotionally meaningful. We value our volunteers greatly.
