If you are passionate about connecting people to the Indian heritage and fluent in Hindi language then this is a great opportunity to give back to the community.

Hindi Gurukul is looking for teachers, substitute teachers and assistant teachers to help teach Hindi to our students in our virtual classroom. This opportunity is fully remote during this academic year 2021-22.

Your responsibility will include the following:

  • prepare teaching materials when needed for the class
  • assign and check homework assigned to students via google classroom
  • deliver class lectures on Zoom video

Qualification:
  • Commitment and passion to help people learn Hindi language
  • Fluent in reading, writing and speaking Hindi
  • Prior teaching experience preferred but not required


Time commitment:
Six hours spread over a period of two weeks. Out of a total of six hours you must commit to 2.5 hours from 2 to 4:30 pm on two Sundays of a month when the class meets, to be present during the class. Any emergencies should be notified to the management well in advance so substitute teachers can be found.

Description

Hindi Gurukul has been teaching Hindi in the Chicago land region for several years through structure classroom instructions. Through the pandemic we have expanded our reach to broader continental United States by adapting our curriculum to online delivery methods. Our team of dedicated volunteers has helped hundreds of students each year to learn the Hindi language. We are opening to doors to understanding the rich Indian culture via Hindi language.
