Mission Statement
We are a small Not-For-Profit organization made up of educators, activists, long time rescue people and locals that strive to protect and assist animals through TNR (trap, neuter, release), dog and cat rescue and rehabilitation, saving animals from high kill shelters from around the New York Metropolitan area and helping to protect and preserve Long Island's North and South Fork's land and Wild life. We are a volunteer only group whose mission extends to advocacy and education from the very young to the very young at heart promoting our love of animals and our home(long Island). We assist when we can and however possible. We show compassion to all and are a cross curricular/cross generational group that fosters altruism and tenacity.
Description
The organization has prided itself in knowing that we have saved countless animals through many Trap, Neuter, and Return programs we have organized. The rescue advocates for animals and holds training sessions and educational assemblies for all ages to discuss animal care and pet ownership. Currently, we are working on local animal laws to prevent abandonment and to ensure that those individuals that do abandon their pets are punished according to the laws. We are foster based. We are not a shelter. Cat or kittens are safely placed with volunteers that want to foster at home. We also hold local events and are always looking for individuals to assist at fundraisers and activities. We are always looking for volunteers that can feed local feral community cat colonies and manage food donation drives. Please consider assisting the rescue however you can. Fostering and event planning is key, but we are always looking for those to help with all aspects of the group. Email us at northforkcountrykidsrpp@gmail.com with questions. Join our team today and become a country kid.
