The ep5 Educational Broadcasting Foundation is an IRC §501(c)(3) non-profit established to create unusual, entertaining, and informative content for public radio and television. We need a marketing expert to help us realize our plans for three new science- and technology-related programs. They’ll appear on NPR, public television, and the WWW.

One is a weekly public radio series on unusual ideas, discoveries, and history in science and technology. It will be distributed nationwide by NPR and will feature a novel hybrid format making it available to public radio stations, libraries, and schools in both half- and full-hour program lengths. This program will be strictly informational and finely-tuned for optimal entertainment value.

The second series, for public television and the WWW, uses the development of a radically advanced, beyond-the-state-of-the-art, all-electric, on- and off-road vehicle to show young people in general and young women in particular the appeal of careers in engineering. We will exploit the latest developments in digital video to produce spectacularly high quality imagery and match that level of excellence with brilliant story-telling.

The third is an educational series on software development using a modern, extremely high capability, general-purpose programming language. It will offer thirty-nine hours of public television content and eighty hours on the Internet. This on-air and on-line course will be tailored to the requirements of those who want to create useful and meaningful applications but have no opportunity to study software development at the college level.

At the heart of this series is a method we’ve devised which directly addresses and solves the one critical weakness of computer-based training.

For a brief introduction to the fascinating educational innovations that these programs bring to public broadcasting and the ’Net, take a quick look at

We’ve worked on these projects over the last several years. All of these programs will appeal to the public’s interest in science and technology without looking and sounding like anything else now available and without dumbing anything down.

But, enough about us.

What about you?

Do you have extensive experience in marketing and communication? Would you be willing to assist us in developing and implementing lean and effective business plans for these series? In addition to being the public voice of The ep5 Educational Broadcasting Foundation, would you make our case to prospective funders and underwriters?

Most of all, could you feel an enthusiastic empathy with our objective of bringing useful and usable education to those for whom it has always remained out of reach?

We’d genuinely like to talk with you if you’re very good at identifying and seeking out prospects, feel comfortable committing to aggressively representing the interests of the foundation, and have the ability to relate well to others.
