HOME DELIVERED GROCERIES (HDG)

Delivery groceries to homebound seniors and people with disabilities across San Francisco.

Meals on Wheels SF runs a weekly Home Delivered Groceries program in partnership with the SF-Marin Food Bank.    We serve 450 people every week, assembling and delivering bags of fresh produce, protein, and pantry staples.  This program supports a group who can cook for themselves but have some difficulty purchasing groceries weekly or getting to a local food pantry. 

Grocery delivery begins at 8:00-8:15 AM.

Drive to MOWSF headquarters to pick up the groceries and a list of client names and addresses. Then deliver throughout the city in your own car - alone or with a partner (age 18+).

Day of Logistics:

  • Address: MOWSF 1375 Fairfax Ave. SF, CA 94124 (street parking is plentiful)
  • Delivery Volunteer Time: Every Wednesday - approximately 8:00-10:30 am
  • Dress: please wear comfortable clothing, dress in layers, and a mask. We provide disposable gloves and hand sanitizer.
  • Required: on-line application, 60-minute Zoom orientation & background check.

It is our mission to provide isolated homebound older adults in San Francisco with nutritious meals, daily human contact, and supportive services to prevent their premature institutionalization.
