The Department of Public Works Zero Waste team is currently in need of volunteers to educate the public on the importance of proper waste disposal!

For this position, volunteers will be spending their time at waste sorting stations educating folks on putting their trash, recycling, and organics (food waste) in the correct bin. Sorting stations are primarily at events, beaches, and high tourist areas. Volunteers will also be offered the opportunity to organize community clean-ups and presentations.

This volunteer position is a great fit for a student majoring in Environmental Science or for people interested in environmental issues! This is a year-round opportunity and offers flexible scheduling.
