Mission Statement

The mission of the Down Syndrome Resource Group of Western Massachusetts is to discover, encourage, and embrace the potential of all individuals with Down syndrome. We will accomplish this mission by supporting the individual, their families, caregivers, and communities through research, unity, resources, community involvement, and education.

Description

The Down Syndrome Resource Group of Western Massachusetts was started in September 1999 by parents who had a common interest in sharing information and resources for their children. Our goal is to provide information and resources including, but not limited to, family support, parent training, and social opportunities. The First Call Program offers support to new parents and welcomes families as they discover and embrace the potential of raising a child with Down syndrome. The Buddy Walk is an annual fundraiser and community event to promote acceptance and inclusion of people with Down syndrome.

Are you passionate about what we do and stand for?

Do you think you’d enjoy the opportunity to support families and children on a mission?

The Down Syndrome Resource Group of Western Massachusetts welcomes volunteers of all abilities, backgrounds, and levels of interest.

Looking forward to hearing from you and yours,
