Urban ArtWorks is looking for Fundraising & Community Development Volunteer who will help us build strong community relationships to help raise funds for our youth arts programs. You will be making a positive impact on the lives of the young people we serve, our community, and our organization. This vital volunteer position would be responsible for leading our annual fundraising events efforts, including our annual Brushed Up fundraiser as well as a more casual fundraising event.
Length of Commitment:
- August 2021 - November 2022
- 3-5 hours per week.
- Committee meetings once per month
- More often closer to the fundraising events
- Meetings can be held virtually
- Committee Members must commit to actively participating for the entire year
Event Program Committee:
- Prepare the event program with a volunteer committee
- Determine event production, venue, catering, and vendor communications
- Registration and coat check
- VIP invitations, cultivation, and care
- Event Entertainment & theme
- Day of Volunteers Committee
- Determine decorations and lead a volunteer team to execute
Auction Committee:
- Secure silent and live auction items to be auctioned at the Gala
- Organize and manage bid sheets, display, payment, and distribution of auction items
- Hire the auctioneer for the live auction if needed
- Write and send thank-you notes for all auction donors after the event
Sponsorship & Ticket Sales Committee:
- Solicit and secure a presenting and supporting sponsor
- Generate a minimum of 5 cash sponsors for the Gala
- Support the ticket sales committee with table sponsorships
- Sell and oversee ticket and table sales strategy, process, and promotions (in partnership with marketing)

- Self-starter and ability to work independently
- Passion for serving youth and making a difference
- Great communication skills
- Well-organized and reliable
- You resonate with our Core Values (see below)
