Be a Superhero! Volunteer with American Red Cross!
People affected by disaster need your support and care! As a Red Cross shelter volunteer, you'll be part of a team to provide a safe place to rest and a path toward recovery. If the need arises, volunteers are asked to commit to multiple local shifts of 10 - 12 hours each, at least 5 consecutive days.

COVID-19 Safety:
Safety first! Our need for volunteers is constant and our guidelines reflect the latest and CDC local-government COVID-19 safety recommendations. The number-one priority of the American Red Cross is the health and safety of our employees, volunteers, blood donors and recipients, and the people we serve. Be sure to review the guidelines for more information, consult your healthcare provider, and follow local guidance.

The hours are long, the work is hard, but the experience will change you forever.

Mission Statement

The American Red Cross prevents and alleviates human suffering in the face of emergencies by mobilizing the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors

Description

Each day, thousands of people - people just like you - provide compassionate care to those in need. Our network of generous donors, volunteers and employees share a mission of preventing and relieving suffering, here at home and around the world.

We roll up our sleeves and donate time, money and blood. We learn or teach life-saving skills so our communities can be better prepared when the need arises. We do this every day because the Red Cross is needed - every day.
