Help place pumpkins in a pumpkin patch for the kindergarteners in the Pikes Peak Region. To uphold a tradition of children getting a free pumpkin from the historic farm of Ventucci in Colorado Springs, Catamount Institute and the Pikes Peak Community Foundation are offering free field trips to the farm to kindergartners to get a pumpkin. Due to contamination in the water, pumpkins cannot be grown on the land, so they are bought from another farm and delivered to Venetucci. That is where we need help. We need all the pumpkins to be placed in the field before students visit the farm. For schools that cannot get to the farm, we will deliver pumpkins to them, or staff from their school will pick up pumpkins, so we also need help counting out the pumpkins for those with a pumpkin patch at their school. This is labor-intensive, as you will have to carry pumpkins and bend up and down to place them on the ground. Gloves and wheelbarrows will be provided. This is such a fun event, and we could use all the help we can get!
