Event Description:
Jazz in the Square is a 6-week jazz concert series that features a variety of jazz performers, food trucks, and an entertaining evening all around!
Volunteer Duties:
Volunteers will assist with setup of the event. Volunteers may be asked to support the event in the following ways: engage and assist with visitors, facilitate the photo booth area, count visitation, maintain area cleanliness, and event breakdown.
**On 9/16, volunteers will also support the Raleigh Night Market event.
Volunteer Impact:
Volunteers help support the activation of Moore Square by helping to continually offer free and welcoming programming to downtown and the surrounding community!
Work Environment:
Moore Square, where Jazz in the Square is hosted, is an outdoor location. Since this is a concert, there will be amplified sound and the potential for crowds. Safety processes have been put in place to prevent overcrowding. Sanitizer stations are located throughout the park and restroom facilities are available.
Volunteer Requirements:
All volunteers must be at least 16 years of age. We will send out release forms prior to the event that all volunteers will need to sign. Those under 18 years of age must have a parent/guardian sign their form.
Other Instructions:
Please bring a filled water bottle. Please wear sturdy close-toed shoes and appropriate clothing for the weather.
Please park at 215 S. Person St.Upon arrival, volunteers should meet at the stage, in front of Square Burger.
COVID-19 Policy:
Volunteers and staff must follow the COVID-19 policies below so that projects are safe for everyone.
- Social distancing must be practiced (6-feet between individuals)
- Everyone must wear a face mask or face shield (not provided) while within 6 feet of a person from another household
- State, federal, and local mandates must be followed
- If you have COVID-19 symptoms, please do not register
Group Registration Information:
Registration as a volunteer is first come, first served. A group leader must email rachel.vannoordt@raleighnc.gov to register. All groups will be required to provide a list of names and emails for their volunteers.
Per department policy, this volunteer opportunity is not to be used towards court-appointed/ suggested community service hours.
