QUICK OVERVIEW
Become a Volunteer with Telesocial, a call program that matches Volunteers to Vulnerably Housed and Homebound older adults to provide social support and companionship through weekly phone calls.
MISSION
TeleSocial's mission is to combat loneliness and isolation amongst our most vulnerable neighbors and offer them an opportunity to connect with others through social phone calls.
IMPACT
Telesocial has provided nearly 75,000 wellness check in calls since 2021. In a recent survey, a call recipient shared her experience, "I appreciate the program, and it has been extremely helpful especially during the pandemic." TeleSocial Volunteers form a positive connection with their call recipients and become a part of their support system. For heartwarming, life-affirming experiences, join TeleSocial as a volunteer and start making an impact!
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The role of this Volunteer opportunity is to offer general companionship and support to call recipients.
Volunteer responsibility to call your assigned call recipient ONLY once a week!
Read the Volunteer Handbook and complete a brief 10 question quiz
Utilize the Call Hub call system to maintain both Volunteer and Call Recipient personal information private
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Age:18+
Age Preference: Retired Senior Volunteers ages 55+ and older!
