Reception volunteers commit to a regular weekly shift. This assignment is carried out in the admin room. Reception volunteers answer incoming phone calls to the wildlife hospital. Duties might include answering wildlife related calls as well as helping to arrange patient transport to our facility. Reception volunteers might also complete miscellaneous admin tasks such as entering patient records into an online database. Training is provided and no experience is necessary.

Volunteering During COVID-19: We have taken steps to minimize the health risk to our staff and volunteers such as limiting outside visitors, wearing face coverings, vaccinating staff, as well as increased sanitation protocols. Find our detailed response by visiting our website.

Description

We are a licensed, non-profit wildlife hospital & conservation education center located just outside of Astoria, OR. We treat sick, injured, and orphaned wildlife with the goal of releasing healthy animals back into their appropriate habitats. We are licensed to treat all native birds, and most native mammals & take in around 1,000 patients every year. We receive no state or federal funding, and instead rely on grants, bequest, and generous donations from our community to continue the work we love. We have a small, dedicated staff and rely on the help of our wonderful volunteers to continue day-to-day operations. We have many volunteer opportunities & welcome all to join our team!
