Wildlife Center of the North Coast

Because of our extensive service area - from Newport, OR to Washington’s Long Beach Peninsula - we rely on a network of volunteers to help transport patients needing our help. Volunteers for this assignment are "on-call," and so there is no minimum time commitment. Transport volunteers that are located nearest the animal in need are contacted when we are alerted of wildlife in need assistance.

Volunteering During COVID-19: We have taken steps to minimize the health risk to our staff and volunteers such as limiting outside visitors, wearing face coverings, vaccinating staff members, as well as increased sanitation protocols. View our website for more details.

Promoting compassion, empathy and respect for all life through wildlife rehabilitation, wildlife conservation, and ecological teachings.

Description

We are a licensed, non-profit wildlife hospital & conservation education center located just outside of Astoria, OR. We treat sick, injured, and orphaned wildlife with the goal of releasing healthy animals back into their appropriate habitats. We are licensed to treat all native birds, and most native mammals & take in around 1,000 patients every year. We receive no state or federal funding, and instead rely on grants, bequest, and generous donations from our community to continue the work we love. We have a small, dedicated staff and rely on the help of our wonderful volunteers to continue day-to-day operations. We have many volunteer opportunities & welcome all to join our team!
