ORGANIZATION: Minds Matter Southern California

Minds Matter connects driven and determined students from low-income families with the people, preparation, and possibilities to succeed in college, create their future, and change the world.

If you like teaching writing & critical thinking, this is the role for you! We want you to bring life to our curriculum and excite students about the written word. Helping students explore who they are, developing ideas, elevating their voices and then seeing it all come together in a powerful personal statement or essay is one of the most impactful roles in the organization. Instructors build a foundation that is reinforced by writing coaches and other volunteers. A passion for the writing process, excitement around grammar, patience, empathy and a curious mind will all serve you well in this role.

Time commitment: Attend every Saturday morning session for 1.5 hours. If you cannot make it, work with your team to ensure adequate coverage.
